Peter Northcote started playing guitar at age 9. He took lessons for 6 months whilst also taking tennis lessons. He was eventually told by his parents to choose one or the other. He took guitar, and high school bands, wedding receptions and cover bands led to touring bands of the likes of RICHARD CLAPTON, DRAGON, STEVIE WRIGHT, DARYL BRAITHWAITE, JENNY MORRIS and THE MONKEYS to name a few.
In 1985 Peter started doing session work and over the years it has garnered him the reputation of being arguably the most recorded guitarist in Australia. His client list is a who’s who of Australian recording artists and advertisers. Having 12 Library/Production albums under his wing, his compositions have had a regular spot on Oprah, Dr Phil and every sporting and lifestyle program known to man. He has also two solo albums to his credit – ‘Conditions Apply’ and ‘Pointdexter and the Genius Sex Act’, which have won critical acclaim from the likes of Steve Vai.
Highlights of recent years include winning Best Instrumental Artist in the 2007 Musicoz Awards, supporting Joe Satriani at the Enmore Theatre in 2008 and his first tour of Japan in 2009.
Peter has also made a name for himself as a producer and runs a professional recording/production studio in Sydney, as well as running educational clinics and mentoring sessions for music students.
